Other than the purchase price are there any fees and charges payable upon entry to the village?
Aside from a $550 admin fee there are no additional costs payable to SwanCare. You are also exempt from paying Stamp Duty.
What are the ongoing costs and what do they include?
The fortnightly service fee is currently $198 and is reviewed annually. This fee covers:
- Building maintenance and insurance
- 24 hour on-site security and resident support
- All shire and water rates, including water usage
- Building insurance and maintenance to your property including provided appliances and front gardens
- Leisure facilities such as bowling greens, snooker club, library, art room - the list goes on.
What is not covered?
You are responsible for all power and gas charges, telephone and internet. Plus contents insurance including public liability.
What optional amenities and services are available in the village?
SwanCare Bentley Park is Western Australia's largest all-in-one retirement and aged care site. Set across 15 hectares, there is convenient access to:
- 24 hour security and assistance
- free golf buggy transport around village (the Swanmobile)
- medical services
- on-site administration and management
- hairdresser and beauty salon
- outdoor and indoor bowling greens
- two restaurants
- art room
- computer club
- handicraft room
- over 30 clubs and groups
- large auditorium for events
- outdoor fitness equipment
- BBQ areas
- home care services
- full hospitality offerings
Will I need to move out of my property if my partner or I move into residential care?
No, you have security of tenure for your unit and can remain in the unit until you chose to leave. This is supported by Retirement Village Legislation.
As everyone’s situation is different we will discuss you and you’re partner’s individual needs and do our best to accommodate whenever possible.
Are there restrictions on visitors, parking and pets in the village?
This is your home so there are very few restrictions on who can come to visit. A guest may come to stay in the village for up to 28 days at a time (or longer if approved by the village).
Parking is limited within the village and permits are issued to residents however there is visitor allocated parking.
Pets are permitted but must be approved suitable for admission by the CEO prior to moving in.
What type of public, private or village transport is available within the village?
SwanCare Bentley Park is very well serviced by public transport. Transperth buses stop right in the heart of the village on Adie Court, including the 999 and 998 bus routes that circle around the entire Perth inner-metro area, and the 95 that heads straight into Elizabeth Quay, Perth CBD.
Residents also have access to our SwanMobile golf buggies that will pick you up from your home and drop you anywhere within the village between the hours of 9am-4pm weekdays & 9am- noon on Saturdays.
Is there an emergency call system and who will answer my calls?
SwanCare Bentley Park residents have access to 24-hour on-site resident support and security.
What types of social activities are available for residents within the village?
The village has an extensive calendar of events that are published in our monthly resident newsletter Tidings, including more than 30 clubs and group activities.
Residents are encouraged to take part in much or as little as they would like but you will find there really is something for everyone.
