SwanCare Group Foundation

SwanCare Group Inc. has been a leader in the provision of accommodation for older Western Australians spanning a period of almost five decades. The organisation is non-profit and non-denominational with all resources being owned by the organisation and shared by the resident community.

Our Bentley Park retirement community is now home to more than 1000 residents who all enjoy the full range of independent living and residential care accommodation and services available to them.

The SwanCare Group Foundation was established in 2002 as a formal fundraising body, separate from the organisation, to manage funds donated for special resident community-based projects.

The work of the Foundation dovetails with the mission and vision of SwanCare Group to create opportunities for extending the scope of services, resources and amenities that, for a not-for-profit organisation, might otherwise be difficult to achieve.

The Foundation is currently focused on raising funds to build a Community Day Therapy Centre as part of the new stage 3 care facility at Bentley Park. This new community asset will be the base from which a range of health, well-being and remedial programs and services will be delivered to residents of Bentley Park community as well as residents of the neighbouring communities.

The Foundation makes grants and awards to projects that provide community-based care and social opportunities for residents. The criteria for grants and awards must be based on improving the quality of life for the aged - support of life, dignity of life and enjoyment of life. Grants and awards may be made to enhance existing programs, develop new programs and to plan for future programs.

Trustees of the SwanCare Group Foundation include Directors of the SwanCare Group Board and respected, and appropriately qualified, members of the wider community. The Foundation operates under a formal charter and terms of reference.
