A new aged-care wing designed for people living with dementia will be launched at SwanCare's Kingia Care Facility in Bentley this month.

SwanCare chief executive Graham Francis said the 17 beds would meet the increasing aged-care needs in the area.

The wing was funded by a $67,000 Lotterywest grant as well as SwanCare investing more than $100,000 into the facility.

The wing also features an interactive wall as well as a specially-built kitchen which will enable residents to bake and prepare meals.

An outdoor sensory community garden will also be installed over the coming months.
