Recent media reports have uncovered that some senior Australians may be charged exit fees care if they want to change home care providers.

An article printed in The West Australian on April 18 describes how some home care providers are charging fees for those who want to change providers, despite the Government’s push to provide more choice and flexibility to consumers.

SwanCare can confirm that its home care offering, SwanCare At Home, does not charge any exit fees.

“We provide a range of quality home care solutions to our valued clients,” Mechy Scharlach, manager of SwanCare At Home, said. “Exit fees are not charged to those who wish to move onto another service for whatever reason.”

SwanCare is a not-for-profit, West Australian organisation that has been caring for WA seniors since 1961, and administers the largest aged care and retirement site in the State.
