Our People
Meet the Team: Brad Marston, a carpenter and jack-of-all-trades, joined SwanCare as our Maintenance Coordinator. Tasked with overseeing the maintenance team and labour hire, but that's not all. ..
Brad-of-all-Trades
At the start of 2025, Brad Marston, a carpenter and jack-of-all-trades, joined SwanCare as our Maintenance Coordinator. Tasked with overseeing the maintenance team and labour hire, Brad triages the requests from village residents and care centres, filtering them by urgency and necessity before assigning them to a maintenance officer or contractor. But that's not all. ..
Maintaining a hands-on approach, Brad might be assisting his team in the Auditorium preparing for an event, repairing a water leak, addressing an electrical issue in the care centres, or troubleshooting your air-conditioning system on a hot day. Every day is different for Brad and he wouldn't have it any other way.
Before SwanCare, Brad worked as a Maintenance Supervisor for Veolia and Ventia. At Veolia, he was responsible for ensuring the maintenance team had the recycling plant in Bibra Lake ready and operational overnight, ready for the following day's shifts. At Ventia, he managed the maritime critical infrastructure maintenance contract for the Department of Transport, supervising maintenance for all boat ramps and commercial fishing facilities across the state, from Esperance to Point Sampson.
In his spare time, he loves to do anything involving the ocean. Brad serves as a volunteer Marine Rescue Skipper for Cockburn. He and other volunteers respond to boats that break down, search for missing persons, and handle medical incidents in the ocean. Oh, and he lives on a boat! He is immersed in the ocean he loves, doesn't have to deal with weeds and finds the lifestyle significantly more relaxing.
When asked about the most rewarding aspect of his role at SwanCare, he responded: "The satisfaction and appreciation of the residents for our work, along with chatting with them while getting the job done. Patching up a leak may be a simple task to us, but the residents are genuinely grateful."
ln the future, he envisions recruiting more staff to join the Maintenance Team to enhance response times for maintenance requests and provide more efficient service to the residents of Bentley Park and care centres.
If you're looking for assistance changing a flickering lightbulb or if something just isn't working the way it should, Brad and his dedicated team are on hand to help you out!
Side Note: Your request will be prioritised based on the information provided when you submit a Maintenance Request. Most low-priority requests, which have no health or safety hazards, aim to be responded to within 3 to 5 business days.
We are extremely fortunate to have the incredibly diverse skills of Brad within the SwanCare family and appreciate the added transparency in what you and your team provide. Thank you, Brad!
