How has August passed us by already?

Our team works hard to provide the best possible experience for our residents which is why we love taking a moment to acknowledge and celebrate these amazing individuals.

Here’s the story about our lovely Community Assistant from SwanCare at Home, Maxine Gibaud, who has been nominated for her Customer Service:

“We have a new home care client requiring extensive care and support. As the first staff member assigned to her, Maxine carried out her role with exceptional professionalism, empathy and patience. She not only supported the client with dignity and compassion but also guided the family on how to provide care when needed. This empowered the family to feel confident and involved in their loved one's care. The client's family expressed their sincere gratitude for Maxine's support, noting how much comfort and reassurance she provided during such a difficult time.”

Thank you, Maxine! Your kindness and commitment really stand out; your support and reassurance make all the difference in helping not just our clients but also their loved ones. A well-deserved recognition and congratulations on being our overall Feathers August winner.

We’re excited to announce the August category winners, who have been recognised for their outstanding efforts. Please join us in celebrating our category winners as follows:

Category Winners
COMPASSION - Amal Zainuden, Registered Nurse, SwanCare Kingia

“I just want to take a moment to acknowledge Amal, who consistently goes above and beyond. Today, on Aged Care Employee Day, while many didn't even realise the day had arrived, Amal took it upon herself (in her own time) to create individual gift bags filled with goodies and a beautiful letter appreciating her staff members. You could see the happiness on everyone's faces. It truly made a difference. This isn't the first time she's done something so thoughtful. Amal is incredibly caring and always puts her team first, even with everything she has on her plate. The way she uplifts people, notices the little things and brings genuine heart to her work is something I've rarely seen. She deserves to know how much she is appreciated and valued.”

What a lovely gesture, Amal! Thank you for everything you do - not just for our residents, but also for your fellow coworkers. We’re lucky to have you in our SwanCareFam!

LEADERSHIP - Keenan Redwood, Roster Coordinator, SwanCare Kingia

“During the recent challenging winter period, when sick calls were frequent and often unavoidable, Keenan demonstrated exceptional resilience, leadership and commitment to his role as Roster Coordinator. Despite the constant changes and pressure, Keenan managed the roster with remarkable efficiency and professionalism, ensuring that the overall staff operations continued smoothly. Keenan consistently went above and beyond to cover staffing gaps, communicate with team members and support both management and frontline staff. He remained calm under pressure, solution-focused and always approachable; qualities that not only kept the team running but also lifted morale during a tough season. Thank you, Keenan, for such exceptional leadership.”

Wow, Keenan, you’ve been a busy bee! Thank you so much for all your effort and hard work; we’re sure it made all the difference to your team.

TEAMWORK - Jackie Hillson, Jeffrey De Asis, Leena Vettiyadan & Mari Luis, Physiotherapy Assistants, SwanCare Kingia & Tandara

“Thank you so much to our PTA staff for today’s SwanCare Kingia and Tandara Games. They helped us transfer residents during morning tea and lunch, as well as assist with toileting and cheering while the games were in progress. It is because of their support that pressure on the rest of the team was reduced and we were able to provide more efficient services for our lovely residents.”

Additionally, this is feedback from our Resident Ricky, “I enjoyed today's games, it was lots of fun. Thank you, PTA team. What excellent teamwork.”

What wonderful feedback! Teamwork really does make the dream work. This positive feedback really shows how much it means to both staff and residents that you’re willing to dedicate your time to assisting others. It’s genuinely appreciated. Thank you!

A big congratulations to all our August winners! We extend special recognition to Maxine Gibaud, our overall August Feathers winner. Great work, everyone!
