We’re delighted to announce our January Feathers winners, who have started 2026 in outstanding fashion by embracing their roles and exemplifying the SwanCare values from day one.
At SwanCare Kingia, Housekeeping Assistant Justin Uy demonstrated genuine compassion, going above and beyond to support a resident in need. The feedback shared in his nomination perfectly captures the calibre of team member we are proud to have at SwanCare:
“While Justin was cleaning a resident’s room, he noticed something that many might have overlooked as the resident was visibly unsettled and confused. Without hesitation, Justin stopped what he was doing and approached the resident with calmness, empathy and genuine concern. He spoke to the resident with incredible patience, offering reassurance and grounding him during a moment of distress.
Justin did not simply acknowledge the situation, he took initiative. He immediately informed the care staff to ensure the resident received proper support, demonstrating not only awareness but exceptional teamwork and responsibility. Justin’s actions reflect the true heart of SwanCare. His compassion, vigilance and dedication to our residents’ wellbeing go far beyond his role. Moments like this show the extraordinary level of care he brings to our community every day.

LEADERSHIP - Bhuma Thapa, Registered Nurse – SwanCare Ningana
“I would like to recognise Nurse Bhuma for her outstanding support and teamwork during a particularly busy morning shift in level 1. Despite being the only nurse and occupied with her clinical duties and morning medication round, she took the time to assist with setting up the dining area and ensuring residents received the correct breakfast. This support was especially valuable as new staff on the floor were still required additional guidance. Her willingness to help ensured residents were well supported and received the appropriate meals, and that staff felt assisted, reassured and grateful. Bhuma’s actions reflect strong teamwork, compassion and a genuine commitment to quality resident care.”Bhuma’s actions also reflect her natural leadership ability! Well done Bhuma, and thank you!
