It gives us great pleasure to announce the overall Feathers winner for November.
Congratulations Arnel Braulio!
Arnel, our Clinical Nurse Manager at SwanCare Ningana, won November's Feathers Award for his outstanding Leadership. Here is the feedback we received:
“On behalf of the entire SwanCare Waminda Team we extend our sincere gratitude to CNM Arnie for his exceptional leadership and support during his 8-week cover as Clinical Nurse Manager at Waminda. Arnie went above and beyond in implementing meaningful changes setting high standards and establishing systems that will benefit Waminda for years to come. His dedication was evident as he stayed after hours and remained consistently available to support the Clinical Team - even beyond his 8-week commitment. Your commitment, expertise and leadership have made a lasting impact, and we truly appreciate everything you have done for Waminda.”
Amazing work Arnel, you have made an evident impact on those around you, and we are thrilled to celebrate your success!
Arnel is joined by a host of other worthy winners, outlined below along with their nominations. Congratulations to all our category winners!
COMPASSION - Korina Ponce, Assistant in Nursing – SwanCare Tandara
“A heartfelt thank you to Korina. I would like to take this opportunity to recognise Korina for her thoughtful consideration of our residents during her visit to a local event. While she was there Korina remembered that our residents go out for their daily morning walk, and she also recalled that one of their sunnies had been broken.
Despite feeling a little shy and sensing her partner's embarrassment, Korina still mustered the courage to ask the event staff if she could take extra items for the residents. Her kindness and generosity did not go unnoticed, and we are truly grateful for her caring heart. Thank you Korina for always thinking of others and for making our residents' day a little brighter.”
Korina you are a natural, our residents and team are very lucky to have you in the SwanCare family. Thank you!
CUSTOMER SERVICE - Shelkar Dema, Assistant in Nursing – SwanCare Ningana
“I would like to recognise Shelkar for her exceptional ability to promptly identify clinical deterioration and take appropriate action in an emergency situation. She remained calm and composed while supporting the clinical team and her actions contributed to a timely response in a challenging situation, ensuring that the resident received appropriate care. She is definitely a valuable member of team Ningana.”
Thank you Shelkar for demonstrating exceptional observation skills and acting accordingly to ensure the wellbeing of our residents. Your actions and calmness are to be commended.
TEAMWORK - SwanCare At Home's Amanda Heaney - Admin Support, Mary Sackey - Case Manager & Moira Heddle - Resident Services Officer
“I want to recognise Amanda, Mary and Moira in relation to the transition to the Support at Home Program. Throughout the time of preparation for the transition, those three have shown perseverance, patience and commitment. There have been many challenges along the way, but it never deterred any of the three but rather they embraced it and went with it. Information was not always available, and we had to work with what we knew. This was at times frustrating.
I am proud to call you part of the Home Care Team which have made the transition to Support at Home Program a success. Without your support we would not be where we are now. You ensured that all service recipients were supported and able to raise concerns or have questions answered. Nothing was too much for you and you made time in your very busy schedules to accommodate those that required support. You also had patience with me when I had to change processes or procedures. You always worked towards deadlines that were either set by me or by the government as part of the transition.
It has been a steep learning curve for everyone and a lot of work. Though we are not yet at the end there is still a lot of work to be done, but I wanted to recognise you for your outstanding commitment and support. Thank you for what has been, and I am looking forward to what is to come - with you in the team I know we can achieve.”
What an incredible demonstration of teamwork! Individually and collectively, you bring so much to SwanCare, and we are thankful.
